Setting up a driver in PRO Software ensures they have the appropriate access to perform their tasks efficiently. Follow these steps to create a new driver profile or duplicate an existing one.
Steps to Create a New Driver
- Open "Settings" from the PRO home screen.
- Click "Manage Access Rights" under the "Active Users" section.
- Click "Create New."
- Enter the driver's name and email.
- Select the appropriate permissions (these vary by company and can be customized with a PRO Trainer).
- Click "Preferences Menu."
- Change the User Type to "Driver."
- Get the driver’s signature (if required) and adjust additional settings.
Driver Permissions & Restrictions
- Leaving Blank: No permissions assigned.
- Inventory: Enables QR scanning.
- Asset Tracking: Useful for restroom trailers or limited-quantity products.
- Remove Units: Some drivers (e.g., P&D drivers) may not have permission to move/remove units.
- Disable Picking & Dropoff: Controls whether a driver can pick up and drop off units.
- Route Scheduling & Activity Alarm: Common settings for drivers.
- Hiding Apps: Drivers typically only need access to the Calendar and Route Scheduling modules; all other modules (e.g., Accounting) can be hidden.
Duplicating an Existing Driver
- Open "Settings" from the main PRO Dashboard.
- Click "Manage Access Rights."
- Open an existing driver profile for duplication.
- Click "Action," then "Duplicate."
- Change the Name and Email Address.
- Click "Save."
Note: The duplicated profile will inherit the original driver’s settings, which can be modified as needed.
Setting a Password for the New Driver
- After saving the new driver profile, click "Action."
- Select "Change Password" from the dropdown menu.
- Enter a new password and click "Change Password."
- Optionally, send an invitation email prompting the driver to set their own password.
