Understanding Commissioned Salespeople vs. Affiliates
🔹 Salespeople (Employees in PRO)
- Can be assigned to customers and sales orders.
- Their sales activity can be tracked within PRO Software.
- Commission structures can be applied to them directly.
🔹 Commissioned Salespeople or Affiliates (External Contacts)
- Can be ANY contact in PRO (they do not need to be a system user).
- They can earn commissions on referrals or sales without having full system access.
- Their commissions are still tracked and reported within PRO Software.
How to Set Up a Commissioned Salesperson or Affiliate
Step 1: Assign a Contact as a Commissioned Salesperson
1️⃣ From the PRO Home Screen, click Contacts.
2️⃣ Use the Group or Filter function to locate contacts by "Commissioned Salesperson."
3️⃣ Select the Employee or Affiliate Customer you want to assign.
4️⃣ Click Edit.
Step 2: Enable Commission for the Contact
1️⃣ Click on the Commission Tab in the contact profile.
2️⃣ Check the box for Commissioned User.
3️⃣ Select the Commission Type (Percentage-Based or Fixed Amount).
4️⃣ Enter the Commission Amount and click Save.
How to Assign a Commissioned Salesperson to a Sales Order
Once a commissioned salesperson is set up, you can assign them to new orders:
1️⃣ Create a new Sales Order.
2️⃣ Scroll down to the Commission Info Tab.
3️⃣ Select the Commissioned Salesperson for the order.
4️⃣ Save the Sales Order to ensure the commission is recorded.
💡 Pro Tip: A commissioned salesperson does NOT have to be the same person as the main salesperson assigned to a customer.
How to View Commission Reports
Step 1: Open the Commission Report
1️⃣ Go to the Contacts Module and locate the desired Commissioned Salesperson.
2️⃣ In the Actions Dropdown, select Commission Report.
Step 2: Generate the Report
1️⃣ Choose a Date Range for the report.
2️⃣ Select Report Options:
- Total Commissions Only – Displays total earnings within the selected period.
- Commission Details – Shows invoice numbers and sales details.
- Subscription Commissions – Includes any recurring commissions.
3️⃣ Click Generate Report.
