Efficient dispatching starts with assigning work orders (WOs) to the right routes. PRO Software provides a structured workflow to ensure that each job is placed optimally for scheduling and efficiency. Follow these steps to assign a WO to a scheduled route.
Filtering and Finding Work Orders
- Filter by "Special is Set" to refine your search.
- Click "Work Orders" in the top blue bar.
- Select "Unassign" from the dropdown menu to find unassigned WOs.
PRO TIP: If you select multiple WOs from this screen, you can use the Action Dropdown Menu to add them to a route simultaneously.
Opening and Assigning a Work Order
- Open the desired Work Order.
- Choose your preferred method for assigning the WO:
- Manually find the best placement for the job.
- Auto-assign the WO to a scheduled route.
- Click "Overlay Service Stops" to view available stops.
Using Static Route Overlays
- Select your depot from the dropdown menu.
- Leave other filters open for better visibility.
- Click "Show Static Route Overlay" to see scheduled routes.
Finalizing the Assignment
- Review the route map to determine the best placement based on GPS location and schedule.
- Click "Assign WO to Route" to proceed.
- Choose the desired date, and all scheduled routes for that day will appear in a dropdown.
- Select the best route for the job.
Optimizing Work Order Placement
- Click "Suggest Optimal Placement" to let the system determine the best spot.
- Click "Assign to Route" to finalize.
- Return to the main Dispatching Screen, where the newly assigned WO will be visible within the selected route.
PRO TIP: If you have multiple unassigned WOs, use the Action Dropdown Menu to batch-assign them to a route efficiently.
By following these steps, you can quickly and efficiently assign work orders, ensuring optimal placement for scheduling and field service operations.
