Understanding Scheduled and Static Routes in PRO Software

Efficient route management in PRO Software relies on understanding the difference between Static Routes and Scheduled Routes. Here’s a breakdown of how they work and how they complement each other.

What Are Static Routes?

Static Routes are templates that consist of a list of job sites or unit locations that require regular service. These act as a foundation for creating Scheduled Routes.

What Are Scheduled Routes?

Scheduled Routes are built from Work Orders (WOs) assigned to job sites or unit locations for a specific day. Unlike Static Routes, Scheduled Routes allow for real-time adjustments.

Key Features of Scheduled Routes:

  • Work Orders include pickups, drop-offs, swap-outs, and extra services.
  • Dispatchers can make dynamic changes in real time to accommodate driver call-ins, truck breakdowns, or emergency route adjustments.

Accessing Work Orders

To manage Work Orders in Scheduled Routes:

  1. Open the "Route Scheduling" module.
  2. Click "Work Orders" in the header navigation.
  3. Use filters to sort and organize information, similar to Invoices and Sales Orders.

By leveraging both Static and Scheduled Routes, your dispatching team can maintain efficiency while adapting to changes in real time.
